Qualification, Integration,
Employment – Life of Worth for Roma People through Agricultural
Support Center Kavarna
During 2007,
on the territory of Kavarna Municipality
it will be implemented “Qualification, Integration, Employment
– Life of Worth for Roma People through Agricultural Support
Center Kavarna (ASC) Kavarna” project, financed under Phare
programme 2004, „ Ethnic Minorities Labour Market Integration”.
The total amount of the project is 176 086,12 euro. The
amount of the grant is 132 064,59 euro.
The
project will be implemented by Business Center
Dobrich
and its partners
Kavarna Municipality, Balkan Foundation Diversity, NBDN
Business Center Elhovo and its associated partners
Roma organization “Social Development – Roma” NGO.
The Overall
objective of the project
is to contribute to the social and
economic integration of the Roma population in municipality
of Kavarna.
The
Specific objective of the project is
to enhance the opportunities
for sustainable employment of 100
unemployed and 26 farmers from the Roma community in Kavarna,
through establishment of ASC, acquiring herb production
professional qualification, general entrepreneurial skills,
specific knowledge about bio-agriculture and opportunities
for support and development of agriculture activity in EU.
The target
groups of the project
are Unemployed and registered farmers
from the Roma community, municipality of Kavarna.
The final beneficiaries of the project
are 100 unemployed
and 26 registered farmers from the Roma community, Kavarna
municipality, Business Center Dobrich.

Activities:
• Repair
and equipment of office with training hall, dry-house
and herb preparatory base for the new ASC in municipality
of Kavarna;
• Selection and motivation of 100 unemployed and 26 registered
farmers from the Roma community;
• Adaptation of training programme and herb training materials
for the speciality of “Herbs production” in accordance
with the educational level and the ethno- psychological
characteristics of the beneficiaries;
• Qualification training for the 100 unemployed and 26
farmers on “Herbs production” and planting of 100 decares
herb massive;
• Training on entrepreneurship for the 26 farmers and
25 unemployed and granting municipal agriculture land
with perennial herb plants;
• Workshop on “Opportunities for development of biological
agriculture, financing and support of the farmers in financing
and support in EU” for the beneficiaries who have passed
entrepreneurship training;
• Promotion of the project PHARE programme.
Expected
results:
Established and functioning ASC – office with training
hall, modern dry-house and herb-preparatory base;
Enhanced motivation of 100 unemployed and 26 registered
farmers from the Roma community to acquire vocational
and entrepreneurial knowledge and specific skills in
the agriculture field;
Adapted training programme and herb training materials
for the speciality of “Herbs production” allowing more
effective acquiring of knowledge by the minority group;
Created 100 decares massive planted with herbs;
At the end of the project it is expected that 25 unemployed
will be registered as farmers and to be granted each
of 4 decares of perennial plants for own cultivation;
10 people will be employed in the long term in the herb-preparatory
base; 60 will be hired temporary;
Enhanced knowledge of the beneficiaries about: biological
agriculture, good production practices, development
and support in EU frame.
